Building smarter systems to strengthen care for the future.

Innovation at Northwood is focused on creating better experiences for residents, clients, families, and staff through smarter systems, stronger partnerships, and more connected ways of delivering care.

This year, Northwood advanced a formal data strategy designed to strengthen how information is used to support care, quality improvement, and decision-making across the organization. Through improved governance, standardized practices, and new tools such as Power BI dashboards, we are building a more connected and transparent approach to data - one that helps teams access meaningful information more efficiently and use it to improve outcomes in real time.

Initial efforts have focused on long-term care, with a phased approach planned across all programs and services. Alongside this work, Northwood launched a formal Research + Data Strategy team to help strengthen data-informed care, innovation, and continuous learning across the organization.

Innovation this year also included new approaches to supporting employee wellbeing and workforce sustainability. Northwood introduced the DIALOGUE primary care and wellness platform, helping employees and their families access healthcare and wellness supports more quickly and conveniently. In its first year, more than 320 care sessions were delivered to team members and their families.

Additional initiatives, including the implementation of C-Board and the launch of an IV Therapy pilot program at the Bedford Campus, continued to strengthen clinical practice, communication, and care delivery across the organization.

Our Homecare Program spent the year preparing for the rollout of AlayaCare, an exciting new cloud-based scheduling and case management platform that will bring enhanced features, digital workflows and a more seamless experience for teams and clients alike.

Innovation at Northwood is not simply about technology. It is about building systems that support safer, more responsive, and more person-centred care while helping prepare for the future needs of our communities.

This year, Northwood launched a formal Research + Data Strategy team and introduced new tools and technologies to support more connected, data-informed care across the organization.
